- SETTING UP KNIGHTS FOR MULTI-NODE SYSTEMS [ 01]
- ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- Setting up knights to run with multi-node system's is not
- _to_ complicated. To simply set it up "lets say on a 2
- node system"... We'd have the bbs call the door for each
- node like the following.

- For NODE #1 You would set knights up to be called like
- this: KNIGHTS C:\<DROPFILE PATH> 1
-
- Where 1 is the NODE #.
-

- For NODE #2 You would set knights up to be called like
- this: KNIGHTS C:\<DROPFILE PATH> 2
-
- Again 2 is the NODE #.

- And etc... for every node.

- SETTING UP KNIGHTS AS A STANDALONE DOOR (Single Line)

- ENTERING KNIGHTS [ 02]

- When you ENTER into knights, you will be asked for your
- knights "handle/name". Your real name is recorded with
- no prompts asking for it.

- After you enter your handle/name of your knight, you will
- see 4 command choices show up... they will be....

- [G]ame Help
- [L]ist Knights
- [D]ont Enter Castle

- [W]alk into castle will take you right into the main game
- menu.

- [G]ame Help will display a Help screen file on how to play
- knights. Gives the full detailed description of most of
- the commands available in the game.

- [L]ist Knights is the same [L]ist Knights command that is
- on the main game menu.

- [D]ont Enter Castle will take the player/knight back to

- THE FORTRESS [ 03]
- ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- The fortress is where all knights may go to protect their
- hard earned gold and food.
-
- The knight will press [E] from the main game menu, from
- there, they will have a choice of 4 commands....
-

- [G]old Deposit
- --------------
- Will allow the knight to deposit as much gold as he/she
- would like. Pressing "1" will allow depositing all gold
-
-
- [W]ithdraw Gold
- --------------
- Will allow the knight to withdraw their gold from the
- bank. Pressing "1" will allow the knight to withdraw
- all of his/her gold.
-
-
- [F]ood Deposit
- --------------
- Will allow the knight to deposit as much food as he/she
- would like. Pressing "1" will allow all the food to be
- deposited.
-

- [T]ake Food
- --------------
- Will allow the knight to Withdraw/Take their food from
- the bank. Pressing "1" will allow all the food to be
- withdrawn.

- Pressing ENTER will leave the fortress.

- THE PITSHOP [ 04]
- ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- This is the place for all knight's to come if they are
- looking to do any of the following....

- [A]sk About (Another Knight)
- [B]uy Weapon
- [S]ell Weapon
- [L]ist Items
- [W]ishes (Very expensive)

- [ASK ABOUT] depending on what level you are on, well cost
- you $50 more per each level. This will let you find out
- some vital information about another knight.

- [BUY WEAPON] will let you buy a better weapon, it affects
- your attack speed as well.
-
- [SELL WEAPON] will let you get rid of a current weapon
- that you own. It will randomly pick a price of value.
-
- [LIST ITEMS] will list all the current available weapons
- there are for a knight to purchase.
-
- [WISHES] are VERY EXPENSIVE, knights will be better off
- getting ahold of wishes another way. such as threw an
- IGM or such....

- THE FOREST SHOP [ 05]

- The forest shop is a place where you may purchase a horse

- [BUY ITEM] will let you enter the room of items and allow you
- to purchase the item of your choice.

- [LIST ITEMS] will let you list/view all the available item's
- there are for sale.

- [SELL ITEM] will let you sell the current item that you have
- depending on how used the item is when you bring it back, is
- how much you will get for it.....
-
- [TALK TO KEEPER] will let you talk to the owner of the shop.

- THE SEARCH CASTLE [ 06]
- ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- When a knight first enters the game, he/she needs to do
- this more than anything else to be able to build up the
- Knight Skills, Strength, AwareNess, etc...
-
- [S]earch Castle is pressed from the main game menu, when
- a knight chooses to search the castle, he/she will come
- across various different enemys.
-
- Here they will have the choice to do the following...
-
- [A]ttack Enemy [T]ame Enemy
- [R]un Away [S]pecial
-
- [ATTACK ENEMY] will allow the knight to attack his/her
- current attacker.
-
- [RUN AWAY] will let the knight run away from the battle
- doing so will return the knight to the game menu with
- the amount of health that he/she currently had from the
- battle, as well as subtracting a Search.
-
- [SPECIAL] This is were the knights "wish's" come in
- handy, if the knight has any wishes, and realizes that
- he/she is about to be killed, the knight can use choose
- this command and a wish will be used destroying the
- enemy instantly.

- ------------------------------
- [TAME ENEMY] will allow the knight to try and do the
- following....
-
- [F]eed It [C]apture It [T]rick it
-
- [FEED IT] will allow the knight to try and tame the
- enemy with food. If the knight does not have enough
- food that the enemy requires (Which is unknown) the
- enemy will beat up on the knight.
-
- [CAPTURE IT] will allow the knight to try and Capture
- the enemy and put it into his/her army as a recruit.
-
- [TRICK IT] as well will allow the knight to try and
- trick the enemy and put it into his/her army as a
- recruit.

- THE WITCH HOSPITAL [ 07]
- ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- Chooseing [W]itch Hospital from the main game menu will
- allow a knight to Heal all wounds.

- The options for this menu are...

- [H]eal All [Q]uit [T]alk To Witch
-
-
- [HEAL ALL] will heal all wounds that the knight has from
- any type of battle.
-
- [QUIT] will return the knight back to the main game menu
-
- [TALK TO WITCH] will allow the knight to listen to what
- the witch has to say....

- A knight _Should_ try to keep his/her health at its
- maximum at all times.

- JOURNY TO [ 08]

- This command is for IGM's. It works in conjunction with
- the KNIGHTS.H C++ Programming Header File.

- Programmers who would like to create add-on's for knights
- can take this header file, and throw it into their door
- programming kit and create other add-ons for KNIGHTS.

- This makes knights VERY EXPANDABLE, and can become a very
- large game considering how many IGM's you have set up.

- It can become a whole world where your users will spend
- days getting from place to place...

- This command is the same as the LOGIN command when a
- knight first enters the game....

- It's been added to the main game menu due to the complex-
- ibility of the game.

- Users can view everything about the game and recieve a
- few tips/pointers on how to play.

- GAMBLE [ 11]
- ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- This command will at "all" times allow a knight into the
- gambling casino, no matter if he/she has been destroyed
- on the current day.

- Comming into the gambling casino allows the knight to
- play multiple different gambling games.

- Kings Vault
-

- The kings vault is available for any knight to try to figure
- out the current combination to the vault, if he/she does not
- guess the correct 3 digit combination, they simply loose all
- of the coins that were entered throughout the process of
- trying to rob it.

- HISTORY KING'S [ 12]
- ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- Pressing this command allows the current knight to view
- all of the past/previous Knights who became King, and
- displays to them what the king did while he/she were
- King.
-
- This is more like the FINAL resting place for TOP knights.
-
- It shows just how much of a king they were, distributeing
- gold, wishes, army recruits, Health, and other things
- that the kings may distribute.
-
- The headlineing ansi should not be re-configured, as it
- is setup to be placed just right with the previous kings
- finished numbers.
-

- TAKE ON THE PIT [ 13]
- ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- Every KNIGHT can fight in the PIT as many times as they
- want/have, but every level contains a different PIT
- enemy, and each time going into the PIT the same enemy
- could be stronger or weaker, but if a knight goes into
- the PIT and chooses NOT to fight, they are still deducted
- a PIT fight for the turn.

- If the knight wins the fight, he/she is awarded with any
- property that the current PIT ENEMY had on him.
-
- PIT Fights can be obtained threw IGM's ONLY!

- DRAGON SEARCH [ 14]
- ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- This command will allow a knight to search for a dragon,
- depending on how big the knights army is the better the
- chance is at defeating the dragon.

- On certain times there will dragons that can be beatin
- with not to large of an army, but majority of the time
- the knight need's to have a substantial amount of army
- recruits.
-
- Going into the search for a dragon you will be noticed
- about not haveing enough army recruits if you dont have
- enough.
-
- When fighting a dragon, the dragon will kill some of
- the knights recruits, regardless of a win againts the
- dragon.
-

- BRICK WALL [ 15]
- ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- Here is where all the happenings of the castle go, any
- type of major upset, or simply news that should be told
- to the other knights is announced threw the wall.
-
- Usually when a knight has been defeated when searching
- the castle it is written to the wall.
-
- As well, when a knight loses coins on certain areas of
- the game, it is added to the casino jackpot and is also
- written to the brick wall.
-
- There are 3 commands available when chooseing [B]rick
- Wall, they are....
-
- [Y]esterdays [T]odays [A]ll
-
- [Y]esterdays will allow the knight to view ONLY things
- that had happened yesterday.
-
- [T]oday will allow the knight to view ONLY things that
- have happened on the current day.
-
- [A]ll will allow the knight to view ALL of the lines
- on the wall that have ever happened.
-
-
- NOTE: The brick wall "continueously" keeps ALL
- lines in the walls data file, it is up to
- you (the sysop) to remove it when you see
- fit, or the file has grown to large.
-
- (With the registered Version you recieve)

- (features as well as takeing care of the)

- INSERT NEWS (Brick Wall) [ 16]
- ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- This command will allow a knight to enter his/her own
- personal message to the wall.

- Great for knights to leave messages to other knights,
- or just all the knights, or just to leave a standard
- comment.
-
- Inserting news on the wall is allowed even after a
- knight has been killed/beaten up.
-
- Inserting news can be viewed by chooseing the [B]rick
- Wall command from the main game menu.

- VIEW STATS [ 17]
- ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- This command will take the current knight to its online
- playeing statistics, here a full screen is shown filled
- with all the current stats of the current knight playin
- the game.

- View stats shows EVERYTHING about the knights journy in
- the castle.

- ROB KNIGHT [ 18]
- ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- Well, this command will allow any knight to "try" to rob
- another knight, but, it will not just let ANY knight go
- and rob ANY other knight, it keeps track of who is less
- experienced, and who is more experienced.
-
- When a knight on level 1 (low experience) trys to rob a
- knight lets say on level 5, it will let the knight "try"
- and sometimes "may" get lucky and catch that higher
- experienced knight on a low of his/her awareness, and
- successfully rob him.
-
- BUT, it will not let a level 5 knight rob a level 1 knight
- due to 90% of the time, the more experienced knight will
- succeed.
-
- When a knight chooses [R]ob Knight From the main command
- menu, it will list all the knights in the game, and prompt
- the current knight to choose who he/she would like to try
- and rob, picking a worthy opponent, the procedure begins.
-
- If the knight succeeds in robbing the knight, he/she
- recieves the amount of gold that, that knight had on him,
-
- "No gold will be recieved if all of the defending knights"
- "gold is in the fortress. "
-
- If the robber succeeds in robbing a knight, the victim will
- recieve a notice when he/she logs back into the game that
- they were robbed. It will also, not allow any other knight
- to rob that knight TILL that knight has re-entered the game.
-
- This makes it fair to the player who was robbed.
-

- MAIL KNIGHT [ 19]
- ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- This command is only good for when another knight is
- online playeing his/her role, When a knight chooses
- [M]ail Knight from the main game menu, it will list
- all of the current knights currently online playeing
- their roles, it will allow the "Mailing Knight" to
- pick who he/she wants to send a message to.
-
- After chooseing who he/she wants to send a message to,
- a fancy editing line appear's, here is where the
- mailing knight enter's his/her message to the reciever
- and after finishing press's enter, and the message is
- sent.
-
- Multiple messages can be sent at one time from others
- on any other node.
-

-
- AFTER HOURS [ 20]
- ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- This is an Inn where the knights can go and be safe from
- being robbed by other knights and knowing who is all in
- the game.
-
- The "Smart" knight will realize and see that the knight
- numbering system is out of whack and go straight to the
- Inn to see who is in it.
-
- Although a knight can go and see who is in the Inn, they
- still cannot touch anyone who resides in the Inn.
-
- Another catch, is that ONLY 10 Room's can be filled at
- one time, when a knight enters the Inn, he/she is first
- asked how many nights he/she would like to buy, a knight
- can spend anywhere from 1 night to 1 weak in the Inn.
-
- When a knight goes into After Hours, he/she can view the
- price list of the rooms and stays.
-
- If a knight chooses 3 days to stay in the Inn, when he/
- she returns a day earlier "at any time" he/she is asked
- if they would like to leave the after hours for that
- current day (Till they exit the game again).
-
- If the knight returns on the 3rd day After Hours will
- inform him at login that his time has ran out and he/
- she should leave from after hours immediatly.
-
- ***SEVERE PENALTY***
- If the knight returns on the 4th day and chose 3 days
- he is sent an eviction notice and the after hours will
- take ALL of his gold in the bank and on him for being
- late.

- OTHER KNIGHTS [ 21]
- ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- This command allows A knight who is currently online to
- view any other knights who are currentley online playing
- their role.
-
- Chooseing this command will list to the current knight
- the Other Knights Node Number, Knights Name, And amount
- of Skills that the other online knights have.
-

- KING CROWNING [ 22]
- ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- This section of the game is at the END of the game, it is
- when a knight has passed all the levels required. When a
- knight reaches level 10 he/she is crowned as the KING OF
- THE CASTLE.
-
- Now, this isnt the END of the game for THAT knight, they
- now have the luxury of being king, they can help other
- knights that need helping by giveing various items to
- those knights.
-
- Everything the current KING does is recorded and shown
- to all the other knights when they enter the castle, this
- is to show exactly how much of a king he/she has been.
-
- It keeps track of how many times knights have been helped
- how much gold and hitpoints have been distributed as well
- as food. And other things that only the KING can do.
-
- The current KING stays king till a new king is crowned.
- And then takes the previous king and sticks he/she into
- the ALL TIME KING's LIST.

- IGMEDIT.EXE (IGM Editor) [ 23]
- ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- This is the IGM Editor, here is where you add external
- IGM's to the game. Currently they are all stored into
- the [J]ourny To (UNREGISTERED VERSION) The [N]ew Place
- is one command that is activated if you have recieved
- the (REGISTERED) version.

- Let me remind you, that this is not _actually_ a hold
- back, this is just a extra section to add IGM's, it's
- useful for splitting up certain IGM Models.

- IGMEDIT Also, has no holdbacks, it to, is free of charge
- with the distribution of Knights v1.00.

- NITEDIT.EXE User Editor Program For Registered Ver [ 24]
- ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- NITEDIT is a VERY useful program/editor, it will allow you
- to edit any knights database. You MUST Register your copy
- of KNIGHTS to recieve the EDITOR.

- Certain aspects of the users database are not allowed to
- be edited, due to the way the game go's along.
-
- But, majority of all the stats are edit-able.
-
- NitEdit.Exe is shipped to you on disk with the registered
- version of KNIGHTS v1.00.

- Any Future Versions Are Free!!!!!

- STONES.EXE (IGM Stone Dropping Contest) [ 25]
- ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- This is the executable to the IGM Game, Stone Dropping
- Contest.
-
- This IGM will allow a player to pay 150 Gold for 5 shots
- at winning the contest.
-
- If the player doesnt win on each try, it takes them back
- to be able to pick a new contestant.
-
- If the player wins 1/5 they will win 300 Gold
- If the player wins 2/5 they will win 600 Gold
- If the player wins 3/5 they will win 900 Gold
- If the player wins 4/5 they will win 1200 Gold
- If the player wins 5/5 they will win 1500 Gold

- As of v1.0 there is no program to reset the game, so, we'll
- give you the information needed to do so.

- You may delete ALL other .DAT files. This will totally
- reset the game from scratch.

- FIXREC.EXE (Fix Player Database Record) [ 27]
- ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- This little program will allow you to RESET a players
- database, In other words, have the player totally start
- the game over, OR, re-fix a players Knight Number. The
- reason you have the option to reset the players knight
- number is that the NITEDIT.EXE program does not contain
- a spot for this in the players data.

- We'll explain it now, but you may also just type FIXREC
- and press ENTER for any addition help.

- TO RESET A PLAYERS GAME

- Just Get THAT players Knight Number, and enter it on the
- command line.

- Example: FIXREC 5

- Would search for player #5 and reset his/her game.

- To change a players # from say 3 to 18, you would enter on
- the command line...

- Which would change player #3's number to #18.
